Today couldn’t have been a prettier day to walk. My sister, Lynn, and I started from the Governmental Center with about 3,000 other runners and walkers. We were walkers… ๐Ÿ™‚ After a trip through the old part of Leonardtown, around Tudor Hall and back, we had done our 3.1 miles, or 5K. Our time was 1 hour 32 seconds. Not my personal best walking, but walking none the less. I’m thankful for the ability to walk when so many others are not. After finishing the race we stopped and said hello to Todd Morgan, St. Mary’s County Commissioner. His wife was in a horrible car accident last summer and suffered a severe brain injury. She is still hospitalized. He commented that next year he hopes to see her walking in the 5k. It brings things into perspective and I really hope to see her there too.
